5 Tips for Coping With Emotional Eating!
Do you ever find yourself eating despite the fact that you’re not hungry? Maybe it’s just been one of those days, and the ice cream is calling your name!
Or maybe you miss spending time with your friends and you’re feeling a little lonely. Or perhaps you’re just bored! Sound familiar?
We’ve probably all been there at some point. These behaviours are known as emotional eating. This is one of the most common struggles I hear from my clients. They tell me that they often use food as a way to fill time, or to make a boring task more tolerable. They tell me that they turn to chocolate when they’re feeling stressed. They feel embarrassed that they can’t ‘control themselves’.
And maybe sometimes it’s just a harmless bowl of ice cream to comfort yourself after a tough day. But other times it might feel a little out of control or numbing.
The good news is that you can learn to cope with your emotions and create peace with food!
You can learn to nourish your body in a way that feels easy and natural. It’s completely possible to feel at ease around even your most tempting foods! Many of my clients tell me that they no longer feel controlled by food. And you can too!
